CAPO VATICANO RICADI - CALABRIA- SOUTH ITALY

The promontory of Capo Vaticano, the spur that stretches from the Calabrian Apennines to the Tyrrhenian Sea opposite the Eolian Islands, dividing the Gulfs of Santa Eufemia and Gioia Tauro, locates in Ricadis municipality, at 7km from Tropea.
During the course of centuries, the "Cape" has been for priests the sacred place used to look into the future, for poets and writers their inspiring town, for example Giuseppe Berto (author of "Il Male Oscuro") decided to move here for this particular reason, and for all the ancient civilisations the place where to leave their artistic, cultural and scientific expressions.
Capo Vaticano has grown through the years to a desired tourist resort thanks to its particularly attractive coastline with crystal-clear waters and rocky reefs.
The flora is very well developed all around the zone, breaking the monotony of the granite rocks with its variation of colours.
Great excursions take place from the town to all around the area and coast, and it is possible to visit the Eolian Islands and other parts of Sicily.
